Lagerfeld Plans Never to Retire

Beloved Chanel’s own Karl Lagerfeld is one of those people. You go boy! No, not only are replacement rumors not true, that won’t be happening any time soon. Like Coco Chanel herself, Lagerfeld plans to create for the label until his death.
Karl told German magazine, Freundin,
“Retirement is not one of the topics with which I deal. Why should I? I still have so many projects that I sometimes don’t know where to begin. Chanel will still need some clothes when I’m 89.”
That is wonderful, but the infamously-nutty designer also shows his egotism once again (after again & again). Whom does he think he is? Gabrielle “Coco” reincarnate? Chanel and their dresses, etc. will go on.
However the house’s current “mastermind” is not to be without respect, he’s held the position as creative director for 27 years, which is longer ago than most Internet readers even started their careers. He is a big deal, and we may just miss that passion. Isn’t it rare?
